At Avalon Renovables, we have extraordinary experience in developing and executing renewable energy projects on a global level, having proven our ability to carry out complex and challenging projects successfully.

Our partners and managing team have a track record of more than 15 GW of renewable energy and industrial projects and have participated in development, operations, financial structuring, constructive execution of these projects, as well as subsequent assets operations.

Our objective as a team is to put all of our know-how, critical skills, and vision about the development of new technologies that contribute to decarbonizing the economy in the hands of industry, in an efficient and competitive manner.

José Luis Cogolludo
Founding member

In 2005, he founded Qohelet Solar, dedicated to constructing solar and wind energy projects. 

He also has extensive experience participating in the development of several renewable energy projects both in Spain and Latin America.

José Carlos López
Founding member

Founder of Ingenostrum, a company focused on developing projects that centered its operations in Spain, Italy, and Chile, and was able to develop more than 1.4GW.

Alberto Rabanal Managing partner

He was the general manager of Albasolar and Grupo Conergy in Spain, where he participated in innumerable projects. In 2008, he became managing director of Martifer Solar in Spain and Latin America, where he led the group’s expansion. In 2013, he joined the ECOS Group as the CEO of ECO SOLAR, leading investments in Latin America and establishing residence in Panama. After returning to Spain, he joined EDP Renewables as the Director of Development for Spain and Brazil. Currently, he is the CEO of Avalon Renovables.

Manuel Cortés
Managing partner

He was the director of Promotion and International Business of Cobra Energía, where he led the group’s international expansion in renewable energy. In 2015, he joined Bow Point (a joint venture between ACS and GIP) as the general manager. In 2017 he joined the Solarig group as CEO, leading the group’s growth by 300% in two years, and doing so while focused on sustainability. In 2020 he joined the Avalon Renovables group as the managing partner.

Vicente Soler

Vicente Soler has more than 25 years’ experience in different sectors (hydrogen, renewable energy, electric energy, gas, industry and railways) and companies (EDF, Repsol, Naturgy, Solaria, T-Solar, Conergy Group, and CAF), with responsibilities as director of the Business Unit, director of Sales and Business Management, director of the Industrial Plant and director of Project development.

Pedro Barros was the technical director of CashLepe, S.L., specialized in retail food distribution between 2010 and 2016. In 2016, he joined Dosa Renovables as a Project Manager, managing a portfolio of more than 600MW, of which 200MW are currently constructed. Since 2019, he has been a part of the Avalon Renovables team, and is currently the director of Promotion and Development.

Rafael Lapique

Rafael Lapique has more than 20 years’ experience in renewable energy and industrial plant projects, from a Property and EPC perspective, with ample knowledge about the participating players in the sector. He has extensive experience in managing multidisciplinary teams. After 15 years performing different functions at TSK and Solaria, he joined Avalon Renovables to perform as director of the company’s Construction Department.

Javier Lázaro

FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT

Javier Lázaro has 18 years’ experience in managing finance departments, with high-level expertise in banking structures, corporate finance, cost and operations analysis, project profitability and budget preparation, KPI analysis, financial accounting and fiscal planning. He has extensive experience in renewable energy companies both in Spain and abroad.

Sergio Martínez

AND M&A DEPARTMENT

Sergio Martínez has more than 20 years’ experience in the energy sector, with a specific focus on renewable energy; wind, solar photovoltaics, thermosolar and minihydraulics. Before Avalon Renovables, Sergio boasted different positions involving sales, business development, sales and strategic management at GES Ingeniería y Construcción. He began his career in the energy sector at Siemens, S.A., where he was the leader of the Strategic Energy Department, then director of Sales and Business Development at Siemens for their “green portfolio” made up of wind, solar photovoltaics, and thermosolar energy. 

Luisa Díaz

LEGAL AND REGULATORY DEPARTMENT

Since 2023, Luisa Díaz has been director and manager of the group’s Legal department. Before joining Avalon Renovables, she was the leader of the legal department for Europe at FRV (Fotowatio Renewable Ventures). Before that, she worked in the Business Finance Department at Cuatrecasas.
