La Joya - Malaga Project represents a consolidated replication of our differential developments in the production of green hydrogen based on an autonomous, competitive solution focused on securing the energy supply, in this case for the production of e-SAF (sustainable aviation fuel).
La Joya represents a standardized development and execution process for the production of biomethane and sustainable fuels. At the same site, we integrate renewable energy generation, green hydrogen, green methanol, biomethane and biogenic CO₂ production through a biomass plant that uses organic waste from different agricultural and forestry operations.
This integrated approach allows the development of a fully sustainable process, in which all phases - including the digestion process for the production of biomethane and the "Methanol to Jet" process for obtaining e-SAF - are carried out in the same location, optimizing efficiency, reducing the environmental footprint and offering different energy solutions to the market.
La Joya will produce more than 20,000 tons of e-SAF per year, destined to supply Malaga airport, contributing to the reduction of the carbon footprint of one of the most important airports in Spain. In addition, the production of 50 GWh/year of biomethane will be able to supply 5,500 homes and avoid the emission of 10,000 tons of CO₂.
With this project, Malaga, a world leader in innovation and technology, will also have an emblematic project in the field of energy transition, consolidating its position as a leading territory in sustainability and green economy.
