Algeciras and Cadiz Bays Project - PBAC

PBAC is a group of green hydrogen production projects strategically located in the provinces of Cadiz and Seville. Each facility has its own renewable generation plants, mainly designed to operate on a self-consumption basis, thus guaranteeing a clean, efficient and totally sustainable energy production.

The green hydrogen generated at these sites will be transported by a 130 km dedicated hydroduct to our green ammonia production plant, located in the vicinity of the Port of Algeciras, one of the main industrial and logistics hubs in southern Europe.

This ambitious project aims to supply key sectors in the transition to a low-carbon economy, among them:

  • 🚢 Maritime transport of goods

  • 🌾 Fertilizer manufacturing

  • 🧪 Chemical industry

The projects that make up PBAC have been designed to maximize the use of renewable resources by optimally sizing the solar plants, the battery storage systems and the electrolysis process itself.

Up to 400,000 t/year green ammonia in Q2 2029.

Up to 800,000 t/year green ammonia in Q2 2030.

Scalable production up to more than 1,300,000 t/year green ammonia from Q4 2030.
