The newspaper Jaén Hoy highlights the vision behind H2 Alperujo Martos, a project spearheaded by Avalon Renovables that aims to transform a long-standing challenge facing the olive oil industry into an opportunity for innovation, the circular economy, and sustainable development.
Over the past few months, we have sought to develop this project through dialogue with the local community, carrying out a broad process of citizen participation in Martos involving businesses, cooperatives, olive oil mills, neighborhood associations, social actors, and institutional representatives.
Three meetings in which we shared information, listened to concerns, and answered questions from various groups, convinced that the energy transition must always move forward hand in hand with the people and the region.
H2 Alperujo Martos aims to foster a new value chain centered on olive groves, converting a byproduct such as alperujo into biomethane, green methanol, biogenic CO₂, and other renewable resources, thereby contributing to employment, investment, and competitiveness in the province of Jaén.
