Citizen Participation: Meeting with Oil Mills, Cooperatives, and Representatives of the Agricultural Sector

We continue to move forward with our commitment to dialogue, active listening, and the collaborative development of the H2AlperujoMartos project.

Last Thursday, we held the second public engagement meeting at Andaltec Technology Center (Martos), focusing this time on olive oil mills, cooperatives, and representatives from the agricultural sector—key stakeholders for understanding the region and building an initiative that reflects the reality of Jaén’s olive oil sector.

During the session, we shared the project’s vision and scope, explained the role of alperujo as a strategic resource within a circular economy model, and delved into how this initiative aims to provide a sustainable solution for the recovery of organic waste, generating new opportunities for the region.

But above all, it was a space for listening: addressing questions, gathering concerns, and opening constructive conversations on how to develop industrial projects that generate economic, environmental, and social value.

We would like to sincerely thank all attendees for their time, their questions, and the quality of the discussion we had.
We firmly believe that transformative projects are built on technical knowledge, but also on closeness, transparency, and participation.

This meeting is part of the citizen participation plan we are developing in Martos, which will continue with upcoming sessions aimed at other groups in the region.
